Meet Amanda Mead Lawrence. She is pictured here practicing for the 1948 Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Annnnnd, she was 15. While she would go on to place 8th in the slalom event, four years later at the Oslo Olympics she would win gold in the slalom and giant slalom. After retiring from competitive skiing, she would go on to work in environmental preservation.

Putting down the gelato.
